Prof. Xiaoming Huang is a chief physician, doctoral supervisor, and the director of the department of Otorhinolaryngology of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. His main research fields are the surgery of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and head and neck cancer, the endoscopic and robotic surgery of thyroid and head and neck. He is expert in the comprehensive treatment and rescue surgery for the head and neck cancer.
Moreover, Prof. Huang is good at the treatment and functional endoscopic surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis, and endoscopic surgery for nose-skull base, and nose-eye fields. Especially and notably, he has undergone many innovations and achievements in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery for thyroid, salivary gland tumor, early head and neck cancer, congenital cyst of neck, etc. He has pioneered endoscopic surgery for elongated styloid process and a series of gasless and minimal approaches for head and neck tumors. He has also carried out the robotic assisted thyroidectomy and head and neck surgery, including trans-oral robot surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer, recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma, etc. Reasonably, Prof. Huang is one of the most famous experts to perform minimally invasive endoscopic and robotic surgery for head and neck area in China.
