Specialties: Comprehensive therapy of advanced hepatobiliary-pancreatic tumors, and surgical treatment of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis.

Research Focuses: Basic and clinical research of biliary-tract tumors, especially lymph node metastasis, peritoneal metastasis, chemoresistance and immunotherapy of cholangiocarcinoma.

Dr. Zhang completed his postdoctoral research in August 2023 with the team of Prof. Chao Liu, who was the vice president of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and the leader of the Department of Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation. Since then, he has been establishing his own laboratory and research team, including graduate students, assistant research fellows, and research assistant. Dr. Zhang has been engaged in the scientific research of hepatobiliary-pancreatic malignancies for eight years. He has been granted 8 research provincial-and-above programs, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program and NSFC Youth Program. His representative scientific publications include J Clin Invest [2026 Mar, corresponding author (last)], Hepatology [2024 July, co-corresponding author], and JHEP Reports [2025 July, co-corresponding author].
