Attending Doctor Cao Jun Wins Second Place of Young Surgeon Award by Chinese Medical Association

On September 6, the 17th National Surgery Conference of Chinese Medical Association and the Finals of the 2nd National Academic Forum Contest of Young Physicians in General Surgery were held in Xi’An, China. Cao Jun, an attending doctor from the Hepatobiliary Department of Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital, won the Second Place of the 2013 Young Surgeon Award by Chinese Medical Association.

The 2nd National Academic Forum Contest of Young Physicians in General Surgery was chaired by professor Zhao Yupei, the chairman of the Surgery Committee of Chinese Medical Association. Professor Zhao Yupei is also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Invited to the panel were more than 100 surgical experts, including professor Leng Xisheng, chairman of the Chinese College of Surgeons and vice chairman of the Surgery Committee of Chinese Medical Association, and professor Zheng Shusen, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice chairman of the Surgery Committee of Chinese Medical Association. The final results are based on the comprehensive evaluation of the competitors’ clinical research papers, surgical presentation, and other capabilities.

The Chinese Medical Association (CMA) is a non-profit registered academic body voluntarily formed by Chinese medical science and technology professionals, and an important social force in the development of medical science and technology in China. The CMA, established in 1915, now has 84 specialty societies, covering all medical fields.

The winning list will be released by Chinese Journal of Surgery on the issue of October 1st. The journal’s official website will also post the news.
