SYSMH 2026 Postgraduate Graduation and Degree Conferment Ceremony Successfully Held

On the afternoon of June 25, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital (SYSMH) hosted its 2026 Postgraduate Graduation and Degree Conferment Ceremony at the North Campus of Sun Yat-sen University.

The Conferring Professors of the ceremony included Professor Chen Yangxin, President of SYSMH; Vice Presidents Professor Chen Suijun and Professor Huang Hai; along with Professors Wang Jingfeng, Huang Jian, Yan Li, Zeng Fanqin, Chen Yajin, Li Jinsong, Luo Baoming, Peng Ying, Zhou Dunhua, Ma Chao, Cao Minghui, Shen Jun, Chen Hui, and Gong Chang.

The ceremony was attended by Yang Jianlin, Secretary of the Party Committee; Li Caixia, Chief Accountant; and representatives of the faculty and administrative departments, and was presided over by Professor Chen Suijun.

Party Secretary Yang Jianlin addressed the graduates, noting that the hospital's long history continues to foster a strong bond among its alumni nationwide—a sense of belonging cultivated by the faculty's dedication to teaching with both rigor and compassion. He emphasized that all faculty and students should take pride in counting Sun Yat-sen among their fellow alumni and remain unwavering in their mission as doctors. He also urged the graduates to see medical practice as a lifelong journey of growth, and to stay true to their calling, show compassion, continuously improving their skills, and devote themselves to protecting patients' health.

Professor Chen Yangxin extended his congratulations to all graduates on successfully completing their studies and wished them a bright future ahead. He then proceeded to present degree certificates to each graduate receiving a master's or doctoral degree.

Professor Yan Li, representing the faculty supervisors, shared with graduates the nine essential qualities required to grow into an outstanding physician, and encouraged them to set long-term life goals. In this era of great transformation, she urged them to embrace challenges and opportunities with vigor, and to continuously pursue excellence and surpass their own limits.

Doctoral representative Jiang Xiaoting and master's representative Huang Teng shared their reflections. Recalling their study and growth at the hospital, they expressed sincere gratitude to the hospital, supervisors, peers and families for their consistent support on behalf of all graduates. They also vowed to dedicate themselves to medical development and people’s health.

The ceremony ended with graduates bowing to their teachers and families in gratitude. They then sang the university and hospital anthem, followed by a group photo in front of the bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen on the North Campus.
