Overview

With the titles of Chief Physician, Doctor of Medicine, and Doctoral Supervisor, Professor Wang Jingfeng is among the First-Session Prestigious Doctors of Sun Yat-sen University, who receives special government allowances of the State Council. He is the secretary of the Party Committee and the director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Department at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. Also, Prof. Wang serves as the deputy director of the Chinese Medical Association Electrophysiology and Pacing Branch, the deputy director of the National Health Commission's Stroke Prevention Expert Committee and the Atrial Fibrillation Stroke Prevention Professional Committee, the vice chairman of the Chinese Association of Atrial Fibrillation Center Union, the standing committee member of the Cardiology Professional Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the standing committee member of Cardiovascular Physician Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the director-designate member of Cardiovascular Branch of Guangdong Medical Association, member of Expert Committee of National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, member of Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS), and the deputy editor-in-chief of "Chinese Journal of Cardiac Arrhythmias". He directed 7 key projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and other projects, published more than 100 SCI-listed papers, and won multiple awards for scientific and technological advancement at the provincial and ministerial levels.
Professor Wang Jingfeng graduated from the Anhui Medical University, China in 1983. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sun Yat-sen Memorial University, China in 1995. He has been appointed the professor of medicine at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China since 2002. And he worked in the field of cardiac electrophysiology at Medical Research Center of Stanford University, USA in 2004,as a postdoc fellow. He has a wealth of experience in diagnosing and treating all kinds of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and interventional cardiology, arrhythmia, heart failure, hypertension, cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, etc. Moreover, he is particularly of great attainment in the implantation of cardiac devices (incl. cardiac pacemaker, ICD and CRT/CRTD), ranking the domestic advanced level for high success rate of implantation, favorable curative effect, and few complications. In the field of basic medical research, He has devoted himself to the pathogenesis research of cardiac fibrosis and atherosclerosis for more than 15 years.
