Dr. Shu-xian ZHOUis a professor, chief physician, supervisor of PhD student, co-tutor of postdoctoral fellow, vice Directorof Cardiovascular Medicine and Head of Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. She is a Tutor of the Training Base of National Health Commission of China on Interventional Diagnosis and Treatment of Arrhythmia.
Since earning her MBBS and later Doctor of Medicine (PhD), she has been practicing cardiology for more than 25 years with specialty on interventional cardiology focusing on cardiacelectrophysiology,heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. As a specialist she engages in full range of complex catheter-based ablation treatment of various arrhythmias; advanced cardiac device therapies such as placement of pacemaker and defibrillator including His-bundle pacing and left bundle branch pacing, leadless pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) , subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator(S-ICD), and cardiacresynchronization therapy devices (CRT and CRTD); and complex lead extractions.
She has been involving in multiple research studies. Her main research focus is the mechanisms of arrhythmia associated with heart failure with the support of more than 10 funds from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province and Science and Technology Planning Project Fund of Guangdong Province. Her research results have been exported to more than 30 paperspublished in leading peer reviewed journals with high SCI such as PACE and Europace.
