Professor Liu Pin-Ming graduated from the First Military Medical University, China in 1986. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China in 1993. He worked in the field of interventional cardiology under the guidance of Professor Jean-Pierre Bassand at University Hospital of Franche-Comté in Besançon, France, between 1998 and 2000. He has been full Professor of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University since 2003. His clinical research interests and areas of expertise encompass several fields of cardiology, with emphasis on coronary heart disease and interventional cardiology, hypertension, heart failure, cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, etc. He has authored or co-authored over 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals both in Chinese and in English. He has been appointed head of division of coronary heart disease subspecialty of the hospital since 2014. During recent years he has become especially involved in the research of various aspects of lifestyle risk factors and cardiovascular diseases.
