Prof. Wang Jingfeng Elected Chairman of Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology

In February 2026, Prof. Wang Jingfeng from the Department of Cardiology, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital (SYSMH), was elected Chairman of the Ninth Committee of the Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (CSPE). The CSPE is the premier academic organization in China dedicated to the field of cardiac pacing and electrophysiology, representing the highest level of professional authority in the discipline.

This election signifies broad recognition of Prof. Wang’s expertise in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology among peers nationwide. It also highlights the department’s leading position in these specialized areas, given its status as a National Key Clinical Specialty.

Meanwhile, Prof. Xie Shuanglun from the same department was elected as a Standing Committee Member of the Ninth Committee of the CSPE. This further demonstrates the department’s strength in academic team development and its robust talent pipeline in the field of pacing and electrophysiology.

For more than four decades, Prof. Wang Jingfeng has been a dedicated clinician, educator, and researcher in cardiovascular medicine. His clinical practice involves specialized procedures such as cardiac device implantation and interventional treatment for coronary artery disease, along with the comprehensive management of critical cardiac cases. He has made significant contributions to preventing sudden cardiac death and treating heart failure with devices like pacemakers. Recently, he has pioneered several new clinical techniques that now set a national benchmark in the field.

Prof. Wang Jingfeng has secured 8 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and has led numerous other key research programs. With over 100 publications in SCI-indexed journals, his work has earned multiple provincial and ministerial awards for scientific and technological progress.
