The pre-job training program for new employees commenced on July 20 and ran through July 24. The Human Resources Department, together with relevant functional departments, clinical Party branches, and the Youth League Committee planned a five-day thematic training program across multiple sections, enabling new employees to gain an in-depth understanding of the hospital's history, culture, rules and regulations.

A message from the hospital leadership

New staff received a warm welcome from Professor Chen Yangxin, President of SYSMH during their onboarding "first lesson." In his address, he encouraged the new staff to stay true in their original mission, embrace responsibilities with courage, and continuously sharpen their professional skills. He also urged them to align their personal growth with the hospital's pursuit of high-quality development. A new staff representative also took the stage, expressing pride in joining the Yat-sen family and vowing to fulfill their duties with dedication and commitment.

Mr. Yang Jianlin, Secretary of SYSMH, then took the audience on a journey through the hospital's 191-year history, reminding them of the generations of medical workers who had devoted themselves to serving the community and advancing healthcare. He encouraged them to draw on the wisdom of the past and follow the "One Body, Two Wings" strategy as their roadmap. "Carry forward the Yat-sen spirit and grow together with the hospital," he urged, calling on the newcomers to become part of the hospital's shared future.

The training program also invited a number of experts to share their insights from various perspectives, including psychological adjustment, cutting-edge medical advances, patriotic commitment, and talent development.

One of the most memorable parts of the training was a visit to the hospital museum, where new staff explored 191 years of history through old photos, medical artifacts, and stories of early pioneers. The experience turned the hospital's legacy into something tangible—not just a timeline, but a compass for the future.

On July 24, the final day of the pre-job training, all new employees participated in a team-building activity themed "Beating the Drums with Passion, Marching Forward with Compassion". Through ice-breakers, a team drumming session, and group presentations, new colleagues quickly bonded, built trust, and created lasting memories together.
